QVC, HSN Lead Launch of Shop Time Livestream Marketplace on LG Smart TV

Shop Time, a livestream video commerce marketplace on seven million LG Smart TVs across the U.S., features live and on-demand content from QVC, HSN, and two smaller retailers, along with a “shop by mobile” option that makes buying easy. QVC and HSN have prime positioning throughout the experience, as the lead retailers for the launch. Upon opening the app, the livestream of QVC’s main channel plays, with HSN displayed in the programming list on the left menu.

Using a remote, you can select a product onscreen and send a text to your smartphone with a link to the product page on the QVC or HSN mobile web. If you have the LG Magic Remote, you can just point and click. Additionally, QVC and HSN video-on-demand content is available throughout the app in sections such as “Top Deals,” “Hot Picks,” and “Popular Shows.” The QVC/HSN streaming service is also accessible under “Partners,” with a deep link into the service.

Beginning today through November 30, new customers to HSN who download the Shop Time app, navigate to HSN.com, and create a new account will receive a digital coupon for $20 toward a purchase of at least $40 on HSN.com.*

This launch with LG is an important step in QVC and HSN’s journey to provide shop by mobile and in-app purchasing options on multiple livestream platforms. QVC is one of the first major retailers to access Facebook’s Live Shopping tool, which allows our customers to shop the products in our Facebook Live livestream without leaving the live programming. QVC also was one of the first companies to livestream our broadcast through Facebook Live, where we now average 400+ live hours weekly.

In addition, QVC and HSN are working to add shop by mobile into the QVC/HSN streaming service, which is available on LG devices, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV. In 2021, we plan to launch in-app purchasing, so customers can buy without leaving our streaming service, and in the future, we plan to add voice commands.
