Beauty with Benefits Returns to QVC and HSN to Support Cancer and Careers

Responsibility
May 13, 2021: QVC, HSN and CEW are joining forces for Beauty with Benefits, the annual multimedia event that proves beauty comes from the heart.

More than 50 beauty brands join together to put their products to work for cancer survivors in annual multiplatform livestream shopping event

WEST CHESTER, PA., May 13, 2021 – QVC, HSN and Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) are joining forces for Beauty with Benefits, the annual multimedia event that proves beauty comes from the heart. The event benefits Cancer and Careers, a national nonprofit that helps cancer survivors continue to work after a diagnosis. As the country begins to emerge from the pandemic, Beauty with Benefits will help a community that has been especially hit by the health, employment, and financial challenges of COVID-19.

The multiplatform event will take place across QVC and HSN’s digital, streaming, social and broadcast platforms throughout the month of May. This year’s event will feature more than 50 brands, including favorites like bareMinerals, Crepe Erase, Josie Maran, Lancer, Laura Geller, Mally, and Peter Thomas Roth, as well as newcomers like Coola, Somme Institute, Olaplex, Murad, June Jacobs, and more. Participating brands have donated more than 1 million units of product towards this year’s event. 70 percent of the purchase price* of donated merchandise benefits Cancer and Careers. As an added incentive, shoppers will receive a special Gift with Purchase – a tote bag of 10 items with a minimum value of $150**. Each Gift with Purchase tote includes the following items: Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser, Too Faced Diamond Fire Highlighter, June Jacobs Neroli Hydrating Mist and WEN by Chaz Dean Blessings Cleansing; as well as an assortment of six or more additional items from participating vendors.

Now in its ninth year, Beauty with Benefits continues to inspire the beauty community to give back. Last year the event raised a record $2.7 million for a total of $12.2 million raised to date in support of the more than 485,000 people who turn to Cancer and Careers online, in print and in person each year. By providing services such as professional resume reviews, career coaching, financial grants, training for healthcare providers, nationwide conferences and webinars, and so much more, the organization offers support, education and information on one of the most critical survivorship issues—employment.

“Work is a challenging and fundamental aspect of survivorship, especially during these extraordinary times,” said Cancer and Careers’ Executive Director, Rebecca Nellis. “The phenomenal support and awareness that Beauty with Benefits provides is an investment in survivors and their work lives and career paths—while helping to keep talent in the workforce.”

A portion of the proceeds of last year’s event fueled Cancer and Careers’ COVID-19 Relief Effort, enabling the organization to respond to survivors’ new needs and questions, in real time.

“This past year we have all witnessed the magic that happens when communities, along with brands and individuals, come together to help others in an unprecedented way,” said Bridget Love, Vice President/General Merchandise Manager of Beauty for QVC and HSN. “Storytelling is at the heart of our business and we are proud to be able to use our platforms to share the story of Cancer and Careers and put a spotlight on the work they do to help improve the lives of cancer survivors. The true beauty of Beauty with Benefits is the support of our beauty community and the brands that join forces year after year to offer our customers the opportunity to shop for such a meaningful cause.”

“I have been a champion of Cancer and Careers and its important work for so long,” said Laura Geller, Founder of Laura Geller Beauty, Veteran Makeup Artist and Cancer and Careers Board Member. “I look forward to the Beauty with Benefits event each year. The tremendous reach of the QVC and HSN platforms help to bring Cancer and Careers’ message of support to the public on a very large scale which is why so many survivors will benefit.”
